Green Transition Forum 6.0
From June 1 to 5, 2026, the sixth edition of the Green Transition Forum will take place in Sofia - one of Europe’s most influential platforms for dialogue between institutions, businesses, investors, and global partners, dedicated to key transformations in energy, industry, transport, defense, finance, and innovation.
The Forum will be held at Sofia Event Center (100 Cherni Vrah Blvd., Paradise Center, Sofia) and will bring together a professional community that not only follows change processes but actively transforms the European economy.
Over the years, the Forum has gathered more than 20,000 participants, over 1,200 speakers, and representatives from 40 countries, becoming a leading venue for idea exchange, partnership building, and the development of new projects.
Key Topics and Program Highlights
June 1–5, 2026
Day 1 – Competitiveness, Energy and Transport
The Forum will open with a strategic discussion among 100 business leaders - CEOs, presidents of chambers of commerce and business associations - and Enrico Letta, former Prime Minister of Italy and author of the strategic report on the future of the EU Single Market.
Main themes include competitiveness and energy security, renewable energy, nuclear energy, electricity grids and interconnectors, hydrogen, mobility, infrastructure, logistics, and strategic transport corridors.
Day 2 – Defense & Security, EU Enlargement and SMEs
The second day will begin with a public lecture by Nobel Prize–winning economist Philippe Aghion (Collège de France, London School of Economics and INSEAD), followed by discussions on security and the defense industry, cybersecurity, the strategic role of small and medium-sized enterprises, and EU enlargement, with a focus on the Western Balkans.
Day 3 – Decarbonization, Finance and Circular Economy
The third day will focus on industrial decarbonization, the CBAM and ETS mechanisms, and financing the green and industrial transition—from the European budget and bank financing to capital markets and long-term investment instruments, including circular economy solutions.
Day 4 – Regions, Cities, Water Management and Blue Economy
Key discussions will cover cohesion policy, sustainable regional and urban development, water security, the blue economy, and climate adaptation.
The program will also feature a public lecture by Mo Gawdat, former Chief Business Officer of Google X, titled:
“The Four Key Skills for Thriving After the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
Day 5 – Innovation, Artificial Intelligence and New Growth Sources
The final day will focus on startup ecosystems, innovation financing, the development of artificial intelligence, and emerging economic sectors, including the low-altitude economy.
