The estimated contract value is 61 million lei, funded by the European Union through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF2). The feasibility study is expected to be completed within 24 months.
This bridge is a key component of the TEN-T "Baltic Sea – Black Sea – Aegean Sea" Corridor, aimed at enhancing connectivity between Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, and Poland. It also complements Romania’s 2021–2030 Investment Plan, including the “Connectivity Corridor No. 2 Moldova,” linking southern and northeastern Romania. The new bridge is expected to boost regional mobility, trade, and EU–Ukraine connectivity, with construction anticipated to begin in the second half of the decade and completion around 2030.
